Naples is positioning itself as one of Italy’s leading destinations for international sporting events in 2027.

Update

Alongside preparations for the America’s Cup, the city is increasingly likely to host another stage finish of the Giro d’Italia, one of professional cycling’s most prestigious races.

Update

According to recent reports, organizers are considering a particularly symbolic location for the finish line, potentially connecting the cycling event with the preparations for the international sailing competition.

# 🚴 Stage eight could finish in Naples

Current indications suggest that the eighth stage of the 2027 Giro d’Italia could start in Trasacco, in the Abruzzo region, before heading toward Naples.

Update

Although the official route has yet to be confirmed, discussions are progressing regarding the most suitable location for the stage finish.

Update

One possibility involves placing the finish line close to the area associated with the America’s Cup.

Update

Early expectations suggest that the proposed stage could favor sprinters, although the final route may still introduce unexpected challenges.

Update

Organizers will also need to consider the practical requirements of hosting a major cycling finish in an urban area undergoing preparations for another international event.
