# America’s Cup Naples: Traffic Restrictions Extended Until October 2 as Event Structures Are Removed
Update
**The America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta may be over, but some temporary traffic restrictions along the Naples seafront will remain in place for a few more days. The City of Naples has extended Phase 3 of the traffic plan to allow crews to safely complete the dismantling of structures used during the event.**
Update
Following four days of racing in the Bay of Naples, attention along the seafront has now shifted from competition to the complex process of removing temporary facilities and gradually restoring the affected areas.
Update
Organising an international event of this scale requires considerable infrastructure, and dismantling it cannot be completed immediately after the final race.
Update
For this reason, some temporary traffic measures will remain in force.
Phase 3 extended until October 2
The deadline for Phase 3 of the traffic plan has been extended until **midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026**.
Update
According to the announcement, the extension is intended to ensure that dismantling operations can be completed safely and efficiently.
Update
At the same time, **Phase 4 of the original traffic plan has been completely cancelled**. It had previously been scheduled to run from September 28 until October 5.
Roads affected
Until the new deadline, vehicle traffic will remain prohibited on **Viale Anton Dohrn**.
Update
Restrictions will also continue along **Via Francesco Caracciolo**, between Viale Anton Dohrn and Piazza Vittoria.
Update
A **one-way traffic system will remain in place on the reserved lane of Riviera di Chiaia**, between Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Vittoria, with vehicles travelling towards Piazza Vittoria.
Update
These measures are therefore no longer connected with the racing itself but with the logistical work required to remove temporary installations and return the area to normal use.
Naples seafront gradually returns to normal
With the Preliminary Regatta completed, Naples has entered the final organisational phase of the event.
Update
The temporary facilities that supported spectators, staff and the activities surrounding the competition are now being dismantled, allowing the affected sections of the seafront to be progressively returned to the city.
Update
The Phase 3 traffic restrictions are expected to remain in effect **until midnight on October 2**, unless further measures are introduced by the relevant authorities.
Update
It marks the logistical conclusion of another chapter in Naples’ America’s Cup journey, while attention is already beginning to turn towards the main event: the **38th America’s Cup in 2027**.
